• Is an avid equestrian, who went to camp at Black River Farm and Ranch, a horseback riding camp for girls.

• Attended a Jewish day school and Cranbrook Kingswood school in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Later attended Kalamazoo College in Michigan, the Interlochen Arts Academy, and then transferred to the University of Michigan, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 1994 (for photography). Once she moved to New York, Selma began training at the Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting and attended NYU.

• Selma’s family is Jewish.
